Throughout the 2003-2005 academic years, Mariachi Internacional del Tecnológico progressed into a ten piece ensemble with the insertion of a second trumpet (Gaby Zambrano), violin (Emilia Zambrano), violin (Vanessa Cedillos), vihuela (Jose Naranjo), and a guitar (Juventino Mejía). The mariachi obtained suits for all members through MIT funding along with their earnings of their performances around campus. They serenaded incoming MIT President, Susan Hockfield, during Valentines Day and performed at her inauguration party were she declared Mariachi Internacional del Tecnológico as her favorite on campus student music group.
